Custom software that replaces the spreadsheets.

Past a certain size, most companies run on spreadsheets, group chats and one person who remembers everything. We replace that with software built around how your operation actually works, and that replaces the spreadsheets for good.

Service 03 · Custom software

Unlockd builds custom business software for mid-sized companies and enterprise teams: operations platforms, CRM, booking systems, dashboards, client portals and automation. Each release is scoped and priced fixed, built in Next.js and PostgreSQL by the founder, and handed over with full ownership of the code and data.

Who this is for

  • Operations where the real system is a spreadsheet nobody is allowed to break.
  • Teams paying per user, every month, for software that still doesn't fit the workflow.
  • Businesses where the same information is typed in three times, in three places.
  • Teams that outgrew off-the-shelf tools but don't want a year-long ERP project.

What we build

01

Operations platforms

Catalogue, quotes, orders, production, stock and shipping in one system with one source of truth. The alternative to an ERP you'd have to bend your business around.

02

Booking and scheduling

Real availability, automatic staff assignment, confirmations, reminders and payments. Takes bookings while you're closed.

03

CRM and sales pipeline

Built around how your sales actually happen, not around what a SaaS product assumed they would.

04

Action-first dashboards

The numbers that decide things, always current, and a queue of what needs doing next. No exporting to Excel first.

05

Automation

Repetitive work removed: notifications, documents, reminders, invoices and handoffs between steps.

06

Integrations

Email, WhatsApp, payments, postal and courier, calendar and accounting APIs wired in, so nothing gets typed twice.

07

Client portals

A place for your customers to check status, documents and orders, without anyone answering the same question again.

08

Production tracking

QR and NFC tracking that follows each piece or order through the workshop, logged with a tap instead of a paper sheet.

09

Complete handover package

Everything in the agreed scope, ready to use and yours to keep: the finished website or software with its source code, accounts and documentation, all images, and, when branding is part of the project, the final logo, visual identity, collateral and brand guidelines.

How it runs

Step 1

Map the operation

We follow the real workflow, including the parts that live in someone's head. Nothing is designed yet.

Step 2

Scope the first release

The smallest system that removes the biggest pain, priced fixed, so value arrives early.

Step 3

Build and pilot

Built and put in front of the people who'll use it every day, then corrected against reality.

Step 4

Roll out and extend

Full rollout, training and the complete handover package, with post-launch support always included. New modules follow as the operation grows into it.

Frequently asked questions

Should we build custom software or buy an off-the-shelf tool?

Buy it when an existing product genuinely fits, and we'll tell you when it does. Custom pays off when your workflow is specific enough that you'd bend the operation around the tool, when per-user pricing keeps growing with the team, or when the data you need is split across products that don't talk to each other.

How much does custom software cost?

A first release starts from €6,900. Each release is scoped and quoted as a fixed price, never hourly, so there's no incentive for the work to take longer. The first release is deliberately the smallest system that removes the biggest problem, which keeps the first number down and gets value in front of you early.

Can custom software replace our spreadsheets and ERP?

For most small and mid-sized operations, yes. A custom platform can bring catalogue, orders, production, stock and shipping into one system that fits how you already work, without the licence cost and configuration of a full ERP.

Do we own the code?

Yes. Your code, your database and your hosting accounts are handed over on completion. There's no lock-in and no licence fee, and another developer can pick it up because the stack is standard and the work is documented.

How long does it take to build an internal tool?

A first working release usually takes 3 to 4 weeks. We then extend it module by module, each with its own scope and fixed price.

What happens when we need changes later?

Small changes and fixes are covered by an optional monthly plan. Anything larger is scoped as its own release with its own fixed price. Because the person who built it is the person who changes it, no time is lost relearning the system.

What AI-Native Actually Means for a Web Studio

Every agency says it uses AI. What AI-native really means: who does what at each step, the tools, the guardrails, and what a client should ask.
